9 Years Of My Name Is Khan: Karan Johar And Varun Dhawan Share Interesting Insights From SRK-Kajol Starrer
We love how Twitter often keeps reminding us of movies having completed a certain number of years since the release day, but then, it also makes us feel slightly older. Today, Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan has completed 9 years of its release and it’s indeed a reason to rejoice for the filmmaker who has plenty of lovely memories attached to the movie.

My Name Is Khan featured Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in main roles and it did good business at the box office too. As the movie clocks 9 years of its release, Karan Johar in his inimitable style, took to social media and in a series of tweets, thanked all those involved in making the project a success. He first tweeted, "#9YearsOfMyNameIsKhan ...I feel so blessed to have been able to tell this story....thank you for creating it @ShibaniWrites ....and thank you @iamsrk for living the role of Rizwan so beautifully and brilliantly... thank you @KajolAtUN for your eyes...your silences  and more...."

Varun Dhawan who was an Assistant Director on the project also tweeted, “#9YearsOfMNIK a film I learnt soo much on. It practically changed my life. Also this is the only picture I have where @abhivarman is smiling. Thank u @karanjohar

And Karan didn't hold back from sharing an interesting anecdote as he replied, "So many brilliant memories I have !! Specially of you signing autographs when you were an AD ( not a star) and of SID’s stoic silences in the face of adversity!!! And ofcourse of @abhivarman smiling!! A rare sight!!!!"

In the 2010 movie, SRK essayed the role of a Muslim man named Rizwan Khan who’s suffering from Asperger’s syndrome. He faces severe discrimination in the US because of his identity. He falls in love with a Hindu divorcee (played by Kajol) who has a young son. Post September 11 attacks, he travels to meet President George W Bush to just tell him and the US that, “My name is Khan and I’m not a terrorist.”
